India is set to return to the Hong Kong Sixes 2024 after a gap of 12 years as the Hong Kong Cricket Association announced recently.
The Hong Kong Sixes is a popular tournament which started way back in 1992. The tournament is known for its small-size grounds and unique rules, along with massive sixes - which is the flagship feature of the tournament.

As the popular tournament is set to return after 7 years, India will feature in it for the first time since their previous participation in 2012. Previously, stalwarts such as Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni, Wasim Akram and Brian Lara have taken part in the tournament.
The Hong Kong Sixes tournament requires a six-man team and is a 5-over match (8 ball-over in the Final). It also requires one over from each of the five outfield players of the bowling team and the wicketkeeper is only spared from rolling his arms.
Along with that, the batters are required to retire after scoring 31 runs but they can come back if the other batters get dismissed. Also the wide and No-ball consist of two runs, whereas the final batter of a team can continue batting even after the falling of five wickets.
Historically, South Africa, and England have won the title 5 times each, whereas Pakistan have lifted the title 4 times. India's solitary triumph came in the year of 2005.
The tournament will be taking place at the Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground in Hong Kong. The tournament is set to start from November 1 and will continue till November 3.
12 teams are set to participate in the tournament this year. The teams are-
India, Australia, Bangladesh, Pakistan, England, Hong Kong, Nepal, New Zealand, Oman, South Africa, Sri Lanka and UAE.
With India and Pakistan featuring, the two arch-rivals may get a chance to lock horns against each other.
