Indian cricket fans are set for a blockbuster white-ball season at home, with Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli expected to feature in all nine ODIs during India's packed 2026-27 home calendar announced by the BCCI on Thursday.
The presence of the veteran duo adds significant weight to the ODI leg of the season, which includes series against West Indies, Sri Lanka, and Zimbabwe across multiple venues in India.

With both Rohit and Kohli continuing to anchor India's ODI setup, the nine-match stretch is expected to draw massive attention. The experienced pair remains central to India's plans in the 50-over format, making this home season crucial for continuity and preparation.

While the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia headlines the Test calendar, the white-ball leg-especially the ODIs-will carry added significance due to the expected participation of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.
As India continues to balance transition with experience, the involvement of senior players like Rohit and Kohli provides stability in the ODI format. Their presence is expected to guide younger players while maintaining India's competitiveness at home.
With high-profile opponents, iconic venues, and two of India's biggest stars in action, the upcoming ODI season promises to be a major attraction in the cricket calendar.
As per the latest schedule, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are slated to play 9 ODI matches in the 2026-27 season at home, while they will also take part in 3 ODIs against Afghanistan and then 3 more against England in the away series in July. Apart from that, the Indian team is set to play 5 ODI matches in New Zealand as well in 2027.
If we are to accumulate the numbers, Virat and Rohit will play at least 20 ODI matches before the 2027 World Cup.
