The dates for the World Test Championship (WTC) final 2025 is out, and as per the current standings, and keeping in mind the upcoming series and fixtures, India and Australia might again go against each other at Lord's from June 11 to June 15.
New Zealand are currently third with a win percentage of 50. The Kiwis are left with eight Test matches in the WTC 2023-25 cycle, and five of them are to be held in Asia - two in Sri Lanka and three against India in October-November. They will need either six wins to finish beyond 60 or at least five wins and a draw, as per the calculations made in a statistical analysis published by the official website of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).
New Zealand will face England in their final three Tests, and they are unlikely to meet the scenario. On the contrary, Australia need to add 47 more points to their current tally of 90, to finish with a percentage of more than 60. They need four wins and a draw out of their remaining seven matches.
India will be playing Test matches between September 19, and January seven. A two-match Test series will kick off against Bangladesh on September 19, and they host New Zealand for three Test matches in October-November. They will then travel to Australia for a five-Test series starting November 22.
India qualified for the 2021-23 final with a win percentage of 58.8. To keep percentage in excess of 60, India will need to add 63 points more to their current tally of 74. They can attain it with five wins and a draw. Six wins will take the win percentage to 64.03. If they need to better their current win percentage of 68.52, seven victorious outings will be needed.
Bangladesh, who are fourth in the WTC 2023-24 points table ahead of the India series, have six Test matches to play. If they win all of their remaining fixtures then they will finish with a win percentage of 72.92, while four wins will take them to 56.25.
