How Team India can win ICC trophy? Harbhajan Singh reveals

Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh opines that team India will have to play like a unit to win ICC tournaments.

The Indian cricket team haven't won an ICC trophy for a decade now. The last time India won an ICC trophy was back in 2013, when they lifted the Champions Trophy. The ICC ODI World Cup will be taking place in India later this year and Harbhajan says the team will have to come out of individual brilliance to end their drought.

I don't know, it's very difficult for me to say what we had and they don't. We played till the semi-finals in 2015 and 2019, the ICC trophy didn't come. Maybe the ability to punch back after absorbing the pressure has probably been seen in only one or two players. You need to play big tournaments as a team," said Harbhajan to News24Sports.

Team India have some big names in their squad. India captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and other stars are the biggest names of world cricket. And Harbhajan says all these players will have to walk with the same motive.

"You have Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya - they are big players but along with these three players, the rest of the eight to ten players and the team management, everyone has to walk together with the same motive," the former India spinner added.

India will kickstart their World Cup 2023 campaign against Australia on October 8 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

India will also play the Asia Cup before World Cup and play an ODI series against Australia. Currently, the team is touring West Indies in an all-format series and have a 1-0 lead in the Test series.
