‘Hum To Jaa Rahe Hai’: Suryakumar Yadav Responds to Pakistan's T20 World Cup Boycott Call Against India

Suryakumar Yadav has addressed the uncertainty surrounding the high-profile T20 World Cup 2026 clash between India and Pakistan, scheduled for February 15 in Colombo. With Pakistan's government announcing its decision to boycott the fixture, Suryakumar made it clear that India will continue to follow the tournament schedule and remain prepared for the contest.

Speaking during the captain's day event in Mumbai, Suryakumar reiterated that India has not stepped away from the match and is ready to travel as planned. "Mindset is clear... humne mana nahi kiya khelne kie liye. Udhar se mana kiya hai. ICC ne fixture diya hai. Humari flight book hai Colombo ki, hum to jaa rahe hai. Baaki dekh lege (our mindset is clear, we didn't say no to play. They said no to. ICC announced the fixtures, our flight is booked and we are going. Rest we will see when we get there)," said the Indian skipper.

When asked about the broader impact of Pakistan's decision on cricket, Suryakumar stated that such matters are beyond the control of players. He highlighted India's previous encounters with Pakistan at neutral venues, pointing out that the team remains open to playing whenever the opportunity arises. "Their decision is not in my control. We have been told to play the game on 15th. We played them three times during the Asia Cup at a neutral venue. If we get an opportunity again in Colombo, we will play again," he added.

Suryakumar also acknowledged the complexity of the situation, noting that the boycott decision was made at the government level. "It's not my call. It's not an easy job, they must be working out. It has come from the government, it will be a difficult situation to deal with," he said.
