'Hurry up, my namaz time is going': Babar Azam to reporters after hitting 10th T20 hundred, video viral

A video of Pakistan captain Babar Azam asking reporters to hurry up with their interviews so that he can his namaz on time has gone viral. "Hurry up, my prayer time going," Babar Azam can be heard saying in the video with utmost modesty.

Babar Azam keeping his prayer time in mind despite his hectic schedule is being widely applauded by the Pakistani fans. "Must be a special prayer session after unique feat of 10th T20 century," a fan has tweeted.

Notably, the 28-year-old Colombo Strikers opener smashed his 10th T20 hundred against Galle Titans on August 7. He is now only behind Chris Gayle in the list of T20 batters with most hundreds.

The right-hander is currently leading the runs chart in the Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2023. After five matches, he has scored 235 runs in five matches at an average of 47 and a strike rate of 143.29.

Recently, a video of Babar Azam's teammate Mohammad Rizwan reading namaz on the streets of Boston in the USA had gone viral. Rizwan and Babar Azam were in the USA to attend Harvard's executive education program on the Business of Entertainment, Media, and Sports.

Pakistan have named their 17-member squad led by Babar Azam for the Asia Cup 2023. The Men in Green will kick off their campaign against Nepal on August 30.
