By Staff

Bangalore, Oct 10 (UNI) Confident batting by Mike Hussey, who moved' just eight short of a century, enabled Australia to advance to a comfortable 333 for five at lunch on the second day of the first Test match against India played at M Chinnaswamy Stadium here today.

After losing Shane Watson early, Hussey led the the Aussie charge with wicketkeeper Haddin (26) and the visitors looked confident of posting a big total.

But Haddin, who was all at sea against the Indian speedsters stayed on and in the company of solid looking Hussey arrested any further damage. The duo have so far added 74 runs for the sixth wicket by punishing the Indian bowlers.

Indian spinners Kumble and Harbhajan could not make much mark against the solid batting by Hussey who hit five boundaries adding 46 runs to his overnight total by lunch.

The wicketless Kumble has so far conceded 103 runs in his 34 overs. He surpassed Sri Lankan Muthaiah Muralidharan. This was Kumble's 56th occasion conceding 100 plus runs where as Muralidharan has conceeded more than 100 runs on 55 occasions.

This is Kumble's 131 test after making debut in 1990 against England at Manchester.
