As the juggernaut of the T20 World Cup 2024 has started, India will be hoping to make a significant mark. The Rohit Sharma-led team will be desperate to come out victorious in the tournament.
India has a strong squad for the competition and the entire country will be praying and cheering the team as they hope to go all the way. But one of the India aspirants, namely Riyan Parag wants to keep himself away from all the World Cup extravaganza.

Riyan Parag was one of most impressive players in the IPL 2024. The Rajasthan Royals batter let his bat talk and was sublime in the tournament. He scored 573 runs in the season, the 3rd most in the tournament. Although Parag was in the reckoning for the India squad, the 22-year-old from Assam was not even included among the reserves.
Although Riyan Parag is confident of playing for India soon, he has confirmed that he doesn't even want to watch this T20 World Cup. The player said that he would have worried had he played, but since he isn't, he would only be happy for the winning team.
"It will be a biased answer (T20 WC top four prediction) but to be very honest I don't even want to watch the World Cup. I'll just see who is winning it at the end and I'll be happy. When I will play the World Cup, I will think about top four and all of that," Parag said during a chat with The Bharat Army.
When asked about the message to team India, Parag wished the team Good Luck. The 22-year-old has emerged as a top player this season and the main focus for him will be to continue that and be consistent. With the Zimbabwe series coming up next after the T20 World Cup, Parag is expected to make his India debut in that series.
