India captain Suryakumar Yadav gave a bold statement after leading the team from the front in the Sri Lanka T20I series.
The newly appointed T20 captain of the Indian cricket team has showcased his leadership prowess in the series. India wrapped up a 3-0 series win over Sri Lanka and Suryakumar led the team from the front.

In the final match of the series, team India pulled off a stunning victory from the jaws of defeat. With 23 runs needed in last four overs for Sri Lanka, India managed to impose a stranglehold and took the game to Super Over.
Captain Suryakumar Yadav bowled the 20th over and picked up two wickets to force the match to Super Over. Then his decision to bowl Washington Sundar in the one-off over paid dividends as Sri Lanka got bundled out for just 2 runs. He then came on himself to score the winning uns for India.
And after the fantastic result, SKY hailed the team's character during adversities. He said the low-scoring matches are much more enjoyable as it brings equilibrium in the life of a cricketer.
"More than the last over, I feel when we were around 30/4 and 48/5, how the boys showed character in the middle and took the game away from them ... I felt 140 was a par score on that track. When we were going in during fielding session I told them, 'I have seen such kind of games. If we put our heart in for one and a half hours, we can pull it off.' If you are enjoying hitting 200-220s and winning games, you should enjoy 30/4 and 70/5 as well because that creates balance in your life and that's how you move on and just be humble," the India captain said in the post-match presentation.
Yadav also depicted the team spirit where some of the regular players opted to sit out in the match to provide opportunities to the other players. India made four changes in the side on Tuesday. The India captain also made his intentions clear, which is inclined to become a leader of the team.
"They have made my job easy. When I go into bat, I have little pressure, I just enjoy to express myself. I said before the series, I don't want to be the captain, I want to be a leader," Suryakumar concluded.
India will take part in a three-match ODI series up next which starts from August 2. Rohit Sharma will be back to lead the team in the 50-over format while the likes of Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul will be part of the Indian squad.
