I don't want to play this kind of cricket again: Jayawardene

St Peters, Antigua, Apr 5 (UNI) Sri Lanka Captain Mahela Jayawardene has said that despite winning the crucial tie against England he will not like to play this kind of (tension-filled) match again.

''I will not play this kind of cricket again, though in the end we held the nerves we committed a lot of mistakes and made 20 runs short,'' he told media persons after the match here last evening.

''We're playing good cricket these days but also continue to make mistakes and then try to recover from them,'' he said.

He, however, lauded his players for winning the nail-biting match saying: ''The guys have lot of character and they showed it. In the end, I am very happy for the two points. It was very good all round effort.'' The skipper was of the view that his team was quiet balanced.

''We have got a very balanced attack. We have many guys who can take wickets, we have variety and that has eased pressure off Vaas and Murali but those guys are still performing as well as anyone.'' He also lauded England team's spirited fight back and had a special word of praise for England batman Ravi Bopara, who scored 52 in the match yesterday.

''He batted very well to drag the game out to the last few overs.

We were 10-15 runs short and it was too close for comfort, but I thought this was very good for cricket.

''We bowled in the right areas, but it wasn't good for the heart.

The South Africa game was also too close for comfort, but it just shows that everyone is fighting for it,'' he said.

''It's an important tournament and finishes like this are good for cricket. We had them at 133-6 and thought we were just one ball from exposing the tail, but Paul Nixon and Bopara did well.'' UNI
