I love playing cricket, will be back with a bat in my hand: Lara
London, May 17 (UNI) Amidst rumours of 'big names' joining the breakaway ICL, Brian Lara for the first time after his retirement, said he will soon be back with a willow in his hand.
''A bat is going to be in my hand in the near future,'' Lara said on the sidelines of an exhibition celebrating his illustrious career at MCC's museum at Lord's.
''Brian Lara loves playing cricket and would still like to play cricket at some point of time,'' said the left-handed genius who holds the record for the highest score of 400 not out in a Test match.
One of the game's biggest entertainer, Lara announced his retirement from international cricket two days prior to his last World Cup match against England.
''I am going to be in the nets in Trinidad, I am going to be working, staying fit and ensuring that my game is still very good for another two or three years,'' said Test cricket's highest run-getter with 11,953 runs.
Media reports claims that Lara, alongwith Aussies Shane Warne and Glenn McGrath, is linked with the breakaway Twenty20 Indian Cricket League (ICL) which will take place in India in October this year.
