'I made some Wrong Friends, Only Rishabh Pant....': Prithvi Shaw makes huge revelation

By MyKhel Staff

Prithvi Shaw has revealed that only one India player kept in contact with him during his tough days.

Shaw's cricketing graph has taken a downward curve for some time now. The player lost his team in the Mumbai side and is on the verge of leaving for Maharashtra. After being dropped from the Indian team in 2021, the Mumbai batter has largely remained on the sidelines.

In a recent interview, he revealed that amid his lowest moments, it was Rishabh Pant who stood by him.

"Rishabh Pant keeps on contacting me, whenever he feels something is wrong," Shaw told News24, acknowledging the constant support of his former teammate.

Reflecting on his downturn, Shaw admitted to making poor choices that derailed his cricketing focus.

"I have taken a lot of wrong decisions in life. I started giving less time to cricket. I used to practice a lot. For example, I used to bat for 3-4 hours in nets. I never got tired of batting. I used to go to the ground for half a day. I admit that there was a distraction," he confessed.

Shaw further revealed that his environment changed drastically once he tasted success, drawing him into the wrong circles.

"After that, I started considering what was not necessary as necessary. I made some wrong friends. Because I was at the top at that time. Friendship is also formed. Then they took me here and there. All those things. Then I got away from the track. I used to give 8 hours of practice on the ground. Now it is 4 hours," Shaw further added.

The 25-year-old recently granted for NOC from the Mumbai Cricket Association to switch to a different team for the domestic season, and has been granted. As per reports, he is set to join Maharashtra for the upcoming season.
