ICC approves Marshall as Vincen't replacement
Dubai, Mar 28 (UNI) The International Cricket Council's (ICC) Technical Committee has approved batsman Hamish Marshall as the replacement for injured Lou Vincent in the New Zealand squad for the rest of the World Cup.
Marshall replaces the New Zealand opener after he was ruled out of further participation in the World Cup following medical reports indicating a broken left lower wrist, which he sustained from a Shane Bond delivery while batting in the nets during a practice session in Antigua recently.
Vincent who had scored a hundred in New Zealand's last group match against Canada after two consecutive ducks against England and Kenya earlier, was the sixth replacement player - New Zealand's second, Daryl Tuffey being the first casualty - to be called for the mega event so far.
