ICC Board to discuss next president's election report
Dubai, Mar 1 (UNI) The ICC Executive Board will discuss the Nominations Committee report pertaining to the election of the next ICC President in its meeting today and tomorrow in Cape Town in South Africa.
BCCI President Sharad Pawar and ECB Chairman David Morgan are in the fray to replace present incumbent Percy Sonn who will demit office at the end of 2008.
''The Board will receive a report from the Nominations Committee following the latter's meeting with the two prospective candidates to become the next ICC President in succession to the incumbent Percy Sonn.
''The Board will consider its options in the light of this report,'' the ICC said in a statement.
The Board will also discuss the role of match referees and look into the recommendation of the ICC Chief Executives' Committee (CEC) which, at its January meeting, suggested an amendment to the ICC Playing Condition that relates to Law 21.3 (Umpires awarding a match).
It will also consider a report on the latest developments concerning the ICC's ongoing negotiations with potential commercial partners for the eight year period from mid-2007 to 2015.
