Cricket World Cup 2027 Schedule: ICC Announcement Date, Time, Live Stream

The International Cricket Council (ICC) will unveil the schedule for the 2027 Men's Cricket World Cup in Cape Town on October 1, with the announcement set to be broadcast live on JioHotstar and Star Sports Network from 8:30 PM IST.

The schedule announcement will coincide with the one-year countdown to the tournament, which is scheduled to begin on October 2, 2027. The final is slated for November 21, 2027, while the event will also mark the opening of the ticket ballot for fans.

10 teams already set for World Cup

Ten of the 14 teams participating in the tournament will have secured their places by the September 30 qualification cut-off.

Hosts South Africa and Zimbabwe have earned automatic qualification, while India, New Zealand, Pakistan, Australia, England, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Bangladesh have qualified through the ICC ODI rankings.

The remaining four places will be determined through the Qualifiers early next year. Two-time champions West Indies will also have to navigate the qualification route to secure a place at the 2027 World Cup.

Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli target World Cup glory

The schedule announcement comes with Indian stalwarts Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli looking ahead to what is expected to be their final Men's Cricket World Cup appearances.

Rohit, who captained India to the 2024 T20 World Cup title, said the experience of lifting an ICC trophy remains a major motivation as he targets another World Cup triumph.

"It'll be great to win the upcoming ODI World Cup. I wouldn't think about full circle and all that now. Winning a World Cup for India is a special feeling. I have experienced that twice in the T20 format," Rohit said, speaking to JioStar.

The India captain also reflected on the significance of India's 2024 T20 World Cup triumph after an 11-year wait for an ICC title.

"So that's why, when we won the T20 World Cup in 2024, there was a realisation of how important it was. So that feeling is still inside to a great extent. I know what winning a World Cup feels like. So that's why I want that feeling back," he added.

Kohli, meanwhile, acknowledged that the 2027 tournament will be his last World Cup for India and said winning the trophy remains his primary objective.

"I'm not in a place where I feel like, if it didn't happen earlier, I have to do it now. But for me, it's the last World Cup I'm going to play for India. And that is my motivation. Like, to leave everything out there," Kohli said.

The former India captain said he would relish the opportunity to produce a match-winning innings in the final, while stressing that winning the trophy would remain more important than individual achievements.

"My dream is to play a match-winning knock in the finals while chasing a score; that would be ideal. If it happens, great. If it doesn't happen and we win the World Cup, I'll be just as happy," Kohli added.
