The International Cricket Council (ICC) announces the beginning of "Cricket's Biggest Canvas," a project aimed at using art to commemorate the most extensive and varied Cricket World Cup ever.
The renowned Indian painter Paresh Maity, who was given the Padma Shri honour, will use canvas to represent the unique character of each of the ten top-notch venues and the electric environment. Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Ahmedabad are just a few of the Indian locations where this incredible spectacle will take place as Maity brings his creative brilliance to life.

In the midst of the matches' exciting atmosphere, he will paint cricket masterpieces, injecting the spirit of the game with his brilliant colours and innovative strokes. As the games progress, spectators and art enthusiasts alike will have the rare opportunity to observe Maity's inventiveness in action, giving an entirely new dimension to the World Cup experience.
His live painting workshops promise to be a celebration of both cricket and art, combining the adrenaline of the game with the beauty of artistic expression.
The inaugural artwork was displayed on October 7 during South Africa's World Cup opener against Sri Lanka in Delhi.
The other live painting sessions that will continue to enrich the World Cup experience will be at the following venues:
"Cricket has long been a source of inspiration for great literature and art," said Claire Furlong, ICC General Manager - Marketing and Communications.
She further added, "We are thrilled to have a talented artist like Paresh Marty join us at stadiums across the country to capture special moments from the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023. The live in-stadium painting will allow fans to observe one of India's finest artists at work as he creates ten paintings that will encapsulate the event's unique essence."
"It is a joy for India to host the Cricket World Cup and exhibit the best athletes from around the world," said Paresh Maity.
He also said, "I saw and painted the game between South Africa and Sri Lanka in Delhi and felt that this tournament is a festival that brings everyone together. I am honoured to be the ICC's In Stadia Artist and look forward to capturing the enchantment of the ten venues, four of which will be open on match days."
