Dubai, Oct 16 : The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had a sigh of relief last evening when the ICC gave its green signal to hold the ICC Champions Trophy in Pakistan next year in September.
But, it has restricted the tournament to one city only.
ICC Chief Executive Haroon Lorgat briefed all the member boards about the new dates of the mega event, expected to take place between September 24 and October 4.
According to The News, it was agreed the tournament will take place in one city due to reduction in its duration from 17 to 12 days. A final decision on the location of the matches will be announced after the Indo-Pak series later this year.
The Board considered the options available to slot the mega event into the Future Tours Programme (FTP) in 2009 following its postponement this year owing to safety and security concerns.
