ICC ODI Rankings: Shubman Gill Climbs To Career Best Of Fourth For Batters

Team India opener Shubman Gill on Wednesday (April 5) climbed a spot to his career-best fourth position among batters in the latest ICC ODI Player Rankings.

The 23-year-old Gill has had one of the best years so far in 2023, having scored a hundred in all three formats. He also scored a double hundred in ODIs earlier this year, taking his runs tally for 2023 to 624 in 9 innings.

Gill, who is currently the leading run-scorer for ODIs in 2023, has smashed three hundreds and one fifty, and also 75 fours and 17 sixes at an incredible average of 78.00 and a strike rate of 117.51.

Apart from Gill, his compatriots Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma also feature in the top 10. While Kohli also moved a spot to seventh, Rohit remained static at eighth in the list led by Pakistan skipper Babar Azam.

ICC ODI Bowlers Ranking

Team India pacer Mohammed Siraj continues to be the only Indian bowler in the top 10 as he held on to his number three spot, behind Australian quick Josh Hazlewood and New Zealand's Trent Boult.

Mitchell Starc takes the fourth spot, and New Zealand's Matt Henry jumps five slots to occupy the fifth spot in the bowling rankings, while Afghanistan's Rashid Khan, Bangladesh's Shakib Al Hasan, Australia's Adam Zampa alos feature in the top 10.

Shakib also tops the rankings for all-rounders in ODIs. The top 10 also feature Sri Lanka's Wanindu Hasaranga, Zimbabwe's Sikandar Raza and New Zealand's Mitchell Santner.

Suryakumar continues to lead T20I rankings

In T20I Player Rankings, Suryakumar Yadav retained his top position among batters and is followed by Pakistan's Mohammed Rizwan. New Zealand's Devon Conway, Pakistan's Babar Azam and South Africa's Aiden Markram complete the top 5.

Meanwhile, India's Hardik Pandya remained static on second in the all-rounders' list which is topped by Shakib and also includes the likes of Hasaranga, Raza, Shadab Khan, Moeen Ali and Markram.

In the bowling rankings, Maheesh Theekshana has risen three spots to 10th as Rashid Khan continues to occupy the top spot followed by Hasaranga and Fazalhaq Farooqui.
