Indian cricket star Smriti Mandhana has reclaimed the No.1 spot in the ICC Women's ODI Batting Rankings, marking her return to the summit for the first time since 2019.
The latest rankings update, released on Tuesday by the ICC, saw Mandhana leapfrog South Africa captain Laura Wolvaardt, who dropped 19 rating points after modest outings in recent matches.

Mandhana's rise caps off a remarkable return to form. While she has consistently remained within the top 10 of ODI batting charts, she hadn't occupied the top position in over six years. Her standout performance came in the final of India's recent tri-nation series against Sri Lanka and South Africa in Colombo, where she crafted a brilliant century, her 11th in ODI cricket.
In contrast, Wolvaardt could only manage scores of 27 and 28 in South Africa's latest ODI series against the West Indies, causing her to slip into joint second place alongside England's Nat Sciver-Brunt.
There were other notable movements in the rankings as well: Tazmin Brits climbed five places to reach 27th. Sune Luus surged seven spots to 42nd among ODI batters.
From the West Indies, Shemaine Campbelle moved up seven positions to 62nd, and Qiana Joseph rose 12 places to joint 67th.
On the bowling front, West Indies spinner Afy Fletcher was the biggest mover, climbing four spots to 19th after a four-wicket haul against South Africa at Cave Hill. England's Sophie Ecclestone continues to lead the ODI bowling rankings.
South Africa's bowlers also saw gains as Nonkululeko Mlaba jumped six places to 23rd. Mlaba also made a significant leap in the all-rounders' chart, climbing 11 places to reach 35th, thanks to her impactful four-wicket performance in the second ODI of the series.
Mandhana's return to the top is a testament to her consistency and class, reinforcing her status as one of the finest batters in the modern game.
