The ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 is around the corner and Bangladesh are set to take centre stage as a team who can pull off some surprises.
The Tigers across the border are not the favourites to lift the coveted trophy, but they wouldn't dare to dream of the semifinals at least. Despite having some selection issues prior to the mega event, the Shakib Al Hasan-led team will be hoping to conjure up a decent campaign in the next 45 days or so.

Bangladesh have left out their talismanic batter Tamim Iqbal in the World Cup squad, while veteran Mahmudullah has been included. Despite being not a regular in the team, left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman has found himself in the squad.
But the new crop of Bangladeshi players are the ones who are making them believe. From the broad streets of Dhaka to the coastal Chittagong, people are banking their hopes on the likes of Towhid Hridoy, Tanzid Hasan, Najmul Hossain Shanto and co.
The likes of Mushfiqur Rahim, and Litton Das are going to be a vital cog in their lineup as well, while the all-around ability of Mehidy Hasan Miraz is going to be pivotal. In terms of their pace attack, Shoriful Islam, Taskin Ahmed and Tanzim Hasan Sakib look likely to start, and it can be anyone between Mahmudullah and Mustafizur who can start depending on conditions.
