England and New Zealand will be locking horns in the opening game of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023, according to reports.
The Men's ODI WC this year is being hosted in India, and according to Cricbuzz, the tournament will start and finish in Ahmedabad. England and New Zealand are set to play the inaugural match on October 5 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

The World Cup final will be taking place on November 19, at the same venue in Ahmedabad.
India are set to kick off their campaign against Australia, according to reliable sources. And there is a big chance the match will be played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. India are also said to play Pakistan on October 15, which falls on a Sunday.
The blockbuster clash is going to be the flagship match of the World Cup, provided Pakistan agrees to come to play the tournament in India amid their conflicts regarding the Asia Cup.
There are 10 teams who will be participating in the World Cup this year. All of the teams will play an extended group stage comprising of 9 matches for each teams.
Eight Teams already qualified for the ODI World Cup later this year. They are India, England, New Zealand, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Australia, Afghanistan and South Africa.
The last two spots will be filled through a qualifying tournament which is set to be played in Zimbabwe from June. West Indies and Sri Lanka, two of cricket's heavyweights will compete in the qualifiers alongside Ireland, Nepal, Netherlands, Oman, UAE, Scotland and Zimbabwe.
