The ICC ODI World Cup 2023 is set to be hosted by India in the October-November window with the dates yet to be finalized, but seven of the ten teams have confirmed their spots for the upcoming show-piece tournament.
While India qualified as hosts, six other teams including the defending champions England, booked their tickets to the next 50-over World Cup via the Cricket World Cup Super League, a competition that has run over the last three years featuring the top 13 sides of world cricket.

The top eight of Cricket World Cup Super League earn a direct spot, while the remaining five head into the qualifiers, where they will be joined by the top three from League 2 and the two from the qualifier playoff to decide the final two spots for the 10-team World Cup.

The remaining two spots will be confirmed via the Qualifiers that will be held in June 2023. The Qualifiers will feature one of Ireland, West Indies, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, Netherlands, Scotland, Oman, Nepal, USA and UAE from the Qualifier playoff.
The Qualifier playoff featuring Jersey, Namibia, USA, Canada, Papua New Guinea and UAE took place earlier this year from March 24 to April 5 with the top two at the end of the round heading into the Qualifier scheduled for June in Zimbabwe.
Like the last edition in 2019, the 2023 World Cup will also feature 10 teams with each team facing other in single round-robin format. After the round-robin is completed, the top four will progress to the knockouts - semifinals and final.
In the semifinals, first placed team faces the fourth placed team, while the second placed team battle the third-placed side to determine the finalists.
The schedule window for the show-piece tournament is October-November. The full schedule will be released when the qualifier ends.The World Cup is set to start on October 5th and conclude with the final on November 19th at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
