On the women's side, India's Smriti Mandhana is recognized for her stellar performances across all formats of the game. South Africa's Nonkululeko Mlaba is also nominated for her exceptional contributions, particularly in the shorter formats. Australia's Annabel Sutherland rounds out the nominations with her all-around brilliance in all formats.

The ICC Player of the Month nominees are selected based on performances throughout the month, and voting is done by the ICC Voting Academy (90% of the vote) and fans (10%). The Voting Academy consists of journalists, former players, and ICC Hall of Fame members. Winners are announced every second Monday of the month.
