ICC Rankings: England opener Phil Salt has made a massive stride in the latest ICC T20I rankings for batters by jumping 18 spots to become the new world number two. Salt emerged as the top-scorer in the T20I series against West Indies which saw him score 331 runs in five innings at an average of 82.75.
The 27-year-old right-hand batter scored 119 and 38 in Trinidad to achieve a career-high rating points of 802. Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan is occupying the third spot with 787 points.

Suryakumar Yadav, who has captained India in their last two T20I series, continues to sit on top of the list with 887 rating points. The swashbuckling batter hit a hundred against South Africa in the series-deciding third ODI.
Further, England's Liam Livingstone also enjoyed a T20I batting rankings jump, moving 27 places to 38th after knocks of unbeaten 54 and 28 in Tarouba. Livingstone has also made gains in the all-rounders category, moving four spots up to eighth (175). His move meant compatriot Moeen Ali and Shadab Khan of Pakistan share equal-ninth spot (173).
In the bowling department, West Indies left-arm spinner Akeal Hosein took 2/20 from four overs to help West Indies win the 5-match T20I series 3-2, and moved two spots up to fourth (683), overtaking the Sri Lankan pair of Wanindu Hasaranga and Maheesh Theekshana (679 and 677 respectively).
Adil Rashid, Rashid Khan and Ravi Bishnoi continue to occupy the first, second and third spots respectively. England left-arm fast bowler Reece Topley has moved into the top 10 bowlers with a 13-spot jump thanks to five wickets across the two matches across the week. Fazalhaq Farooqi and Topley are the only two bowlers in the top 10 of the ICC T20I rankings for bowlers.
Meanwhile the ODI series between New Zealand and Bangladesh, as well as India's trip to South Africa, has led to a number of minor shuffles.
Shoriful Islam's fine performance with ball in hand saw him climb 24 spots to 35th, while young India left-armer Arshdeep Singh moved up 41 spots, though still outside the top 100.
