Dubai, Jul 24: England batter Harry Brook has climbed to a career-best third position in the latest ICC Men's Test Batting Rankings following his impressive performance in the second Test of the three-match series against the West Indies.
The series is part of the ICC World Test Championship. Brook's century in Trent Bridge contributed significantly to England's commanding 241-run victory, propelling them to an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series.

Brook, who tallied scores of 36 and 109 in Nottingham, advanced four places in the rankings. His teammates, Ben Duckett and Ollie Pope, also made substantial gains in the latest weekly update to the men's rankings, which are published every Wednesday across formats. Kane Williamson (859 points) and Joe Root (852 points) continue to be at number one and two in the latest rankings.
Left-handed opener Ben Duckett has progressed six places to 16th position after scoring 71 and 76 in the second Test. Player of the Match Ollie Pope, who notched scores of 121 and 51, has made a notable jump from 29th to 21st position.
In the bowling rankings, Chris Woakes has re-entered the top 20 for the first time since September 2021, following his figures of 4 for 84 and 2 for 28 in the match. Spinner Shoaib Bashir has climbed 18 slots to 53rd position after securing his third five-wicket haul in just his fifth Test.
For the West Indies, captain Kraigg Brathwaite has moved up two slots to 40th position with scores of 48 and 47. Wicketkeeper Joshua de Silva has ascended seven places to 61st, Jason Holder has moved up two places to 70th, and Kavem Hodge has climbed 21 places to 75th.
West Indies' new-ball bowlers have also seen improvements in their rankings. Alzarri Joseph has moved up two places to 33rd after finishing with five wickets in the match, while Jayden Seales has advanced from 44th to 34th, thanks to his six-wicket haul.
Meanwhile, three Indian batters Rohit Sharma (7th), Yashasvi Jaiswal (8th) and Virat Kohli (10th) also find themselves in the top ten of the red-ball format rankings. Rohit, however, dropped one spot to seventh in the latest rankings. Babar Azam, Daryll Mitchell, and Steve Smith have also slipped one place to make way for Brook.
Star India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, meanwhile, continues to be the number-one ranked Test bowler in the world with 870 points. Pacers Josh Hazlewood and Jasprit Bumrah are at number two and three respectively. Ravindra Jadeja is the third Indian in the top-ten in the Test bowlers' rankings.
In the ODI rankings, Namibia left-arm spinner Bernard Scholtz has achieved a career-best sixth position after taking 3 for 23 against Scotland in an ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2 match.
Namibia captain Gerhard Erasmus and Scotland's George Munsey have also moved up the batting rankings, with Erasmus rising four places to 27th and Munsey climbing seven places to 41st.
