ICC Rankings: Ishan Kishan becomes No. 1 in T20Is, Jasprit Bumrah regains Top Spot

Australia opener Travis Head has surged to the summit of the ICC Men’s Test Batting Rankings. He now sits atop the list with 853 rating points, edging out England’s Harry Brook by a single point.

England duo Joe Root and Harry Brook endured a tough third Test against New Zealand at Nottingham, losing significant rating points. Root dropped 31 points after a disappointing showing, falling to third place just one week after beginning his 12th stint at No. 1. Brook shed 14 points and now occupies second spot.

New Zealand’s victory in the ICC World Test Championship series (2-1) against England boosted several of their batters. Daryl Mitchell starred with a century in Nottingham, climbing five places to 11th. Devon Conway jumped 14 spots to 15th, while Tom Latham rose 12 places to 31st. England’s Ben Duckett also gained ground, moving from 17th to 14th thanks to a strong first-innings hundred.

In the bowling rankings, New Zealand’s Matt Henry missed the Nottingham Test due to injury and lost about one percent of his points, handing the top position back to India’s Jasprit Bumrah after briefly sharing or claiming it. Bumrah returns as the world’s leading Test bowler.

New Zealand pacers still made gains: Nathan Smith finished as the series’ leading wicket-taker and climbed eight places to 38th, while William O’Rourke moved up five spots to 27th. England’s retiring captain Ben Stokes ended his Test career ranked 34th among bowlers (up three places) and third among all-rounders (up two). He sits 54th in batting.

Additional movements came from other recent Tests, including West Indies vs Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe vs Bangladesh. Sri Lanka’s Dhananjaya de Silva rose six places to 21st in batting, while West Indies’ Roston Chase gained 14 spots to 79th. Among bowlers, West Indies’ Shamar Joseph (up nine to 14th) and Kemar Roach (up four to 17th), plus Zimbabwe’s Blessing Muzarabani (up six to 19th), all improved.
