Dubai, Jun 19: Australia's star all-rounder Marcus Stoinis on Wednesday (June 19) ascended to the top of the latest ICC T20I all-rounder rankings, overtaking Afghanistan's Mohammad Nabi.
While star India batter Suryakumar Yadav who scored a match-winning fifty against the USA remains number one-ranked T20I batter in the world.

Stoinis' recent standout performances in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2024, where he claimed six wickets and made crucial contributions with the bat, have propelled him to the top spot in the standings.
Stoinis' climb to the number one all-rounder position is a testament to his consistent excellence and versatility. His impactful performance against Namibia, where he took six wickets, was particularly notable. This exceptional display underscored his ability to change the course of a match with both his batting and bowling skills.

Alongside Stoinis, there have been significant movements in the all-rounder rankings as Sri Lankan captain Wanindu Hasaranga has risen to second place, reflecting his consistent form and contributions. The Sri Lankan captain and his team didn't have a good outing in the T20 World Cup as they bowed out from the Group stage.
Bangladesh's star cricketer Shakib Al Hasan has moved up to third, showcasing his ongoing prowess in the shortest format of the game. The southpaw has played a vital role in his team's progress to the Super 8 stage of the marquee competition, which is being held in the USA and the Caribbean.
Senior Afghanistan cricketer Mohammad Nabi, meanwhile, has dropped to fourth. The right-handed batter and right-arm spinner will be looking to play an important role in his team's good show in the Super 8 stage in the West Indies.
The updated rankings also highlight the remarkable performances of West Indies' bowlers in the current tournament. Akeal Hosein has surged six positions to become the second-ranked bowler, just behind England's Adil Rashid.
Right-arm pacer Alzarri Joseph has advanced six spots to 11th place while spinner Gudakesh Motie has made a significant leap, climbing 16 places to 13th.
In the batting rankings, India's Suryakumar Yadav continues to dominate as the top-ranked batter in T20 cricket. He is followed by England's Phil Salt, in second place, and Pakistan skipper Babar Azam in third place. Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan finds himself in the fourth position.
West Indies' wicketkeeper-batter Nicholas Pooran - who played a whirlwind knock of 98 off 53 balls against Afghanistan in the Group stage - has also made notable progress, jumping eight places to 11th. Additionally, his teammate Sherfane Rutherford's impressive performances have seen him climb 43 places to 42nd.
