The latest ICC Test bowling rankings have Jasprit Bumrah and Ravichandran Ashwin perched at the top, showcasing their dominance with the ball in the longest format.
Despite their lukewarm performances in the IND vs NZ first Test match, where they managed to take four wickets amongst themselves in the two innings, both Bumrah and Ashwin managed to hold on to the top places.

Ravindra Jadeja also held on to his position in the top 10, staying at sixth place after a three-wicket haul in the first innings against New Zealand.
However, despite the top two spots being occupied by Indians, the latest ICC Test bowling rankings make for grim reading for fans of the Men in Blue. Other than Kuldeep Yadav, every single Indian bowler in the Top 100, including Mohammed Siraj, dropped one or more places.
Siraj’s poor performances will need to be addressed by the team hierarchy, as the pacer has taken only 19 wickets in 13 Test matches on home grounds. As a result, he has dropped one spot to 27th place.
On the other hand, Kuldeep Yadav, who also had a three-wicket haul in the first innings against the Kiwis, rose one place to tie in 15th place with England’s Chris Woakes.
Despite Kuldeep’s rise representing a silver lining, the performance of Indian bowlers in the longest format will be a concern for selectors. After the two remaining Test matches against New Zealand, India will go against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at the end of November, and the Men in Blue will need to step up their bowling output to get a positive result from the tournament.
