
Ravichandran Ashwin has toppled England pacer James Anderson to become the no. 1 ranked Test bowler in the latest ICC rankings.
India's premier spinner was one of the best performers for the hosts as they lifted the Border Gavaskar Trophy after a 2-1 series win over Australia. Ashwin was instrumental in the series as he ended the series with 25 wickets to his name and was jointly awarded the player of the series with Ravindra Jadeja.
And after his stellar performance, Ashwin has gained a spot in the Test rankings as he sits at the summit of the Test rankings. Ashwin has 869 rating points, 10 points more than second-placed James Anderson.
Jasprit Bumrah has gone down one position and now is ranked 7th in the bowler rankings. All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has also lost a spot and now sits 9th in the bowler rankings. Bumrah and Jadeja have 780 and 753 rating points respectively.
Virat Kohli has also made grounds upward in the latest ICC rankings. The Indian batting stalwart ended his 1205 days wait to score a Test century and ended up finishing as the highest run-scorer for India in the Border Gavaskar Trophy. And as a reward, he has gone up eight places and is now ranked 13th in the rankings.

Rohit Sharma has broken into the top ten and is now ranked 10th in the batting rankings, while Rishabh Pant still continues to be India's best-ranked Test batter at 9th position.
Axar Patel has gained two spots in the Test all-rounder rankings and is now ranked 4th in the category. Axar scored 264 runs in the Australia series and picked up 3 wickets. Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin still occupy the top two places respectively.
Along with the series win over Australia, India have also qualified for the WTC final in June. They will take on the Aussies again in the WTC Final 2023 as it is set to start from June 7 at the Oval in London.
