ICC Test Rankings: Victorious Pakistan rise to 2nd, help India

Sharjah, Nov 5: Pakistan have jumped 2 places to second in the latest ICC Test Rankings Table and they have also helped India to gain a spot.

On Thursday (November 5), Misbah-ul-Haq captained Pakistan defeated England by 127 runs in the 3rd and final Test in Sharjah to claim the series 2-0.

The victory pushed Pakistan from 4th to 2nd in the ICC Test Rankings. England, led by Alastair Cook slipped to 6th from 3rd. The last time Pakistan were ranked 2nd was in August 2006.

The change in Pakistan and England's positions has resulted in India moving from 5th to 4th. Pakistan have replaced Australia at number 2. Australia are now 3rd.

Pakistan gained 5 (From 101 to 106) rating points for the series victory while England lost 3 (From 102 to 99).

India and South Africa are involved in a 4-Test rubber. The began today in Mohali. If India win 4-0, then they can catapult to 2nd in the rankings table.
