Bengaluru, Sep 27: With low scores of 9 and 18 in India's 500th Test, captain Virat Kohli has slipped 4 places to 20th in the latest International Cricket Council (ICC) Rankings for Test batsmen. (India one win away from No. 1 rank)

Kohli did not have the best of starts to the three-Test series against New Zealand at Kanpur's Green Park Stadium. However, he led the side to an emphatic 197-run victory yesterday (September 26).
In the latest ICC Rankings released on Tuesday (September 27), Kohli has lost 4 places to move down to 20th position. He has 680 points. Murali Vijay and Cheteshwar Pujara (both 695 points each) gained 4 spots to be joint 16th.
Australian skipper Steve Smith continues to head the table while Kiwi leader Kane Williamson, who scored 75 and 25 in Kanpur, has gained one spot to reach 2nd place. England's Joe Root is third followed by Hashim Amla of South Africa.
There is no Indian batsmen in the top-10 of the rankings. Pakistan's Younis Khan is at 5th position. The highest ranked Indian is Ajinkya Rahane (760 points) at 11th. However, he too lost 3 places. He scored 18 and 40 in Kanpur.
