ICC Test Team of the Year 2024: The ICC has announced the Test Team of the Year for last year, with notable exclusions of Indian stalwarts Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.
Despite their reputations, both missed the cut after struggling with form in the red-ball format. Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Ravindra Jadeja earned their spots in the elite XI, showcasing stellar performances throughout the year.

Jasprit Bumrah cemented his status as the premier all-format bowler in 2024. The speedster dominated the year with 71 wickets at a jaw-dropping average of 14.92. His highlights included a nine-wicket haul against England and 32 wickets in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, including a match-winning effort in Perth. Bumrah also made history, becoming the first bowler to average under 20 with over 200 Test wickets.
Yashasvi Jaiswal, a rising star in Indian cricket, showcased his immense potential with an unforgettable year. The left-hander scored 1,478 runs at an average of 54.74, including two double centuries in the home series against England. In the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, he emerged as India’s top scorer, amassing 391 runs, including a majestic 161 in Perth.
Ravindra Jadeja, India’s indispensable all-rounder, excelled in all departments. His year began with a match-winning 89 and five-wicket haul against England in Hyderabad, followed by a century in Rajkot. Jadeja contributed 527 runs and scalped 48 wickets at an average of 24.29, further cementing his reputation as one of the finest all-rounders in the world.
The ICC XI is captained by Australia’s Pat Cummins, who led his side to a dominant 3-1 victory in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The team features four English players—Ben Duckett, Joe Root, Harry Brook, and wicketkeeper Jamie Smith—while New Zealand’s Kane Williamson and Matt Henry also earned their spots. Sri Lanka's Kamindu Mendis completes the lineup.
