India's U-19 World Cup 2024 campaign achieved one of the crucial milestones on Thursday (January 25) when talented batter Musheer Khan scored the Boys in Blue's first century in the edition being played in South Africa.
The 18-year-old batter scored a 108-ball 119 against Ireland during a group-stage match played at the Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein. Musheer Khan's innings was laced with four sixes and nine fours, helping India U-19 put 305/5 in 50 overs.

Who is Musheer Khan?
To those unaware, Musheer Khan is the younger brother of Mumbai's Ranji star Sarfaraz Khan by more than seven years. The teenage cricketer is an all-rounder, who bats right hand in the top order and is a left-arm orthodox bowler as well. The talented cricketer has already made his first-class debut as he appeared in Mumbai's Ranji Trophy team last season.
Musheer Khan managed to feature in three matches for Mumbai in the season after making debut against Saurashtra in an away fixture. He scored 96 runs while putting his top score at 42 runs in five innings and has two wickets to his name as well.
He left his mark for Mumbai in the U-19 Vinoo Mankad Trophy as he was fourth in the run getter category this season with 438 runs and took the most wickets at 22. He soon featured for India A in a four-nation ODI series and scored a 47-ball 127 while taking a 2/53 to help India clinch the title.
An integral member of India's current U-19 squad, the No. 3 position batter scored two half centuries in build up to the ICC U-19 World Cup 2024. Musheer Khan also took 5 wickets against South Africa right before the start of the tournament and has taken 10 wickets in his last five spells.
India will next play the USA in their last group match on Sunday at the same venue as today.
