India's young cricketing sensation Gongadi Trisha has been crowned the Player of the Tournament at the ICC U19 Women's T20 World Cup 2025, following a phenomenal all-round performance. The star opener led the run charts with a commanding 309 runs in seven innings.
Trisha played a pivotal role in India's title-winning campaign, delivering a match-winning performance in the final against South Africa. She showcased her all-round brilliance, first dismantling South Africa's batting lineup with figures of 3/15, restricting them to 82 all out.

She then sealed the victory in style with an unbeaten 44 off 33 balls, guiding India to a nine-wicket win with 52 balls to spare. The 19-year-old's exploits throughout the tournament were historic. She etched her name in the record books by becoming the first player to score a century in U19 Women's World Cup history.
She smashed an unbeaten 110 off 59 balls against Scotland. Alongside her incredible batting display, Trisha also proved to be a handy bowler, claiming seven wickets, including a best of 3/6 in her record-breaking Scotland match.
Reflecting on her achievement, Trisha was overwhelmed with emotion. "It means everything. I have no words to say. I would like to dedicate this to my father because he is here. I don't think I would be here without him. I want to play for my country and win more matches. Winning this again is simply superb," she expressed.
Trisha follows in the footsteps of England's Grace Scrivens, who won the prestigious award in the inaugural 2023 edition. Scrivens had led England to the final with 293 runs and nine wickets, but this year, it was Trisha's brilliance that propelled India to a successful title defense.
India's dominance in the tournament was evident in the individual stats as well:
