Mumbai, July 26: Ever wondered how Harmanpreet Kaur hit those mighty sixes? Let's tune to the 28-year-old to listen the secret.

Harmanpreet grabbed the world's attention with a brutal 171 against Australia in the semifinals of the ICC Women's World Cup. "I like to bat that way since childhood. I have learnt to play that way and played cricket with boys, who used to hit sixes and I liked hitting sixes," said Harmanpreet on Wednesday (July 26) after arriving from England.

About the heart-breaking defeat to England in the final, Harmanpreet said: "In the final, we needed runs and I was going for runs, I played the shot thinking it will be fully covered, but it went into the fielder's hand. I was very disappointed."

However, Harmanpreet rose to the occasion in the semis and played an unforgettable knock.

"I have played knocks like that in domestic cricket. I got chance in international but never made a big score. That match was live and people saw it. We had the hunger to win 'that match and I was happy that I played that knock when the team needed and the team won," said the right-handed batswoman.

She was struggling with fitness in that match against Australia. But Harmanpreet said pain was no barrier for her on a big moment.

"It was not at all difficult in terms of fitness. I like fitness and I like to play football. There were injuries, but thanks to physio, I did alright," she said.
