Batting all-rounder Deepti Sharma was the lone India player in the ICC Women's T20I Team of the Year for 2023, which was revealed by the International Cricket Council on Monday (January 22).
The ICC kicked off the 2023 awards announcement week by revealing the T20I Team of the Year in both women's and men's categories. The ICC Women's T20I Team of the Year recognises the 11 outstanding players who have impressed one and all - be it with the bat, the ball or their all-round exploits during 2023.

2023 saw a lot of T20 action in women's cricket, including the T20 World Cup in South Africa, which Australia went on to win, beating hosts South Africa in the title clash. Hence, the ICC Women's T20I Team of the Year 2023 has been dominated by Australians.
Four Australians found their name in the side that will be led by Sri Lanka's Chamari Athapaththu, who had a stellar 2023, when she scored 470 runs at a strike rate of 130.91, smashing 15 sixes in the year.
Australian wicketkeeper-batter Beth Mooney has been destined with the duty behind the stumps in the team, and is set to open the batting along with Athapaththu.
South African batter Laura Wolvaardt, who was the second-highest run-scorer at the 2023 T230 World Cup, scoring 586 runs at an average of 45, has been named as the number 3.
West Indies batting all-rounder Hayley Matthews, who scored 700 runs at a strike rate of 132 and also picked up 19 wickets at an economy of 6.84 in 2023, is in at number 4.
England's Nat Sciver-Brunt, who scored 364 runs with a strike rate of 136 and an average of 15.50 in the T20 format in 2023, is the second English player along side spinner Sophie Ecclestone.
New Zealand bowling allrounder Amelia Kerrm, who was one best young talents in the 20-over format, scoring 365 runs with bat and scalping 12 wickets with her leg spin, is among the many all-rounders in the side.
Australia's Ellyse Perry, Ash Gardner and Megan Schutt also made their spot in the best-playing eleven released by the ICC following their stellar showing at the T20 World Cup and other T20I series.
After four players in the 2022 team of the year, Deepti Sharma was the only India included in the team of the year in 2023. The batting-allrounder scored 106 runs and claimed 21 wickets in T20Is last year. Here is a look at the Women's team of the year:
