ICC World Cup 2023 has reached the climax stage as hosts India face Austra;oa in the final of the show-piece tournament at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday (November 19).

India defeated New Zealand by 70 runs in the first semi-final to seal their first ODI World Cup final since 2011, when MS Dhoni's side went all the way to lift the cup. In the second semi-final, Australia defeated South Africa to book a spot in the summit clash.

As the World Cup 2023 final takes shape, the attention switched to what could be in store for the occasion at the world's largest cricket stadium as rumours of a closing ceremony have started doing the rounds days before the big match.

Star Sports, the official broadcaster of the ICC World Cup, shared a post on X, hinting of a performance by Dua Lipa ahead of the India vs New Zealand match with cricketers KL Rahul, Shubman Gill, Kane Williamson and Daryl Mitchell asking the singer which song she would perform at the closing ceremony.

Will Dua Lipa perform at the ICC World Cup 2023 final closing ceremony?

As the post hinted about Dua Lipa's performance at the closing ceremony, the pop star was likely perform at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday (November 19).

However, BCCI later confirmed that the British pop star won't be performing at the World Cup final closing ceremony. There were doubts over a closing ceremony it self as the World Cup opener also did not have an opening ceremony at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

But, BCCI revealed a big closing ceremony will be held on the day of the title clash, starting with a pre-match show, a mid-innings show and a post-match show.

Will there be a closing ceremony for the ICC World Cup 2023?

There is a huge closing ceremony in store as BCCI made an announcement regarding the same. There is an air show by Indian Air Force's Suryakiran Acrobatic team, while there are several other performances being line up for the spectacle.

Who is Dua Lipa?

Dua Lipa is an English singer and songwriter of Albanian descent born in London, England on 22nd Ausgust 1995. Lipa, who started her musical career at the age of 14, when she began covering songs by other artists on YouTube. But she didn't release her first single till 2015.
