Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya sent his teammates a heartfelt message prior to their match against Australia in the ICC World Cup 2023 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday (November 19). The 30-year-old cricketer, who is out with injury, took to social media to post his message through a video.
The video was posted on Instagram and Twitter as Hardik Pandya expressed his unwavering pride in this team and insisted that they are only a step away from success. During the ICC World Cup 2023 group stages, Pandya hurt his ankle bowling against Bangladesh early on and was out for the remainder of the competition.

"Boys, I could not be more proud of this team," said Hardik Pandya. "Everything that we have done so far, how far we have come is credited to years of hard work behind us. We are now one step away from glory, from doing something special that we dreamt of since we were children. Lifting the cup not just for ourselves but the billion people behind us. Always with you with my love and all my heart. Now let's bring the cup home. Jai Hind."
After winning the league stage with a perfect record and defeating New Zealand by 70 runs in the semi-final at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium, the Men in Blue are currently on a 10-match winning streak in the event.
The Australians, on the other hand, are having a winning run of their own as well with seven back-to-back wins in league stages, placing them third on the points table. Following defeats by South Africa and India, Australia won seven straight games and then had to work hard to beat South Africa in the semifinal in a low-scoring thriller.
India already defeated Australia in their respective opening ICC World Cup 2023 match with KL Rahul and Virat Kohli doing the job with the bat after bowlers bundled the Aussies out for a paltry total.
