ICC World Cup 2023 Final: 7 Players Who Have Scored Century In Title Clash So Far

Former champions clashed for the title as India and Australia locked horns in the ICC World Cup 2023 final on Sunday (November 19) at the world's largest cricket arena - Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Rohit Sharma's Men in Blue had remained perfect, having won all the 10 matches till the semi-final, while Pat Cummins' Austalia bounced back from two defeats to go on an 8-match unbeaten run.

ODI World Cup Final Hundreds List

The record five-time champions Australia, who lost the tournament opener to India and the following match to South Africa, booked their final berth by avenging loss against the Proteas in the semi-final and will hope to do the same to India in the final.

However, that won't be an easy task as India have ticked all the boxes in the ongoing ODI World Cup with Rohit's side being in stellar form with both bat and ball.

In the ongoing tournament, India have smashed seven centuries, including three tons from Virat Kohli and two from Shreyas Iyer, while Australia have eight centuries in their ranks, with Travis Head, David Warner, Glenn Maxwell and Mitchell Marsh scoring two hundreds each.

Except for Jayawardene, the other centurions were part of the winning team. Jayawardene's ton was also the last century in a ODI World Cup final with some after that falling short of the three figure mark.

In the 2011 World Cup final, when Jayawardene struck a century, India's Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Gautam Gambhir also came close to reaching the landmark, but finished on ninties. While Dhoni remained unbeaten on 91, Gamhir scored a crucial 97.

In 2015 and 2019 editions, several players got to fifties, but were not able to complete their centuries with New Zealand's Grant Elliot scoring 83 in the 2015 final, and England's Ben Stokes scoring an unbeaten 84 in the 2019 final.
