Indian bowling line-up has been arguably the best this ICC World Cup 2023 with their bowling line-up terrorising the best of batting line-ups in the world on sub-continent pitches, where batters are expected to dominate. Former England captain Nasser Hussain named them the 'fab five' of Indian bowling.
While Australia's Adam Zampa leads the wicket-taking charge with 22 wickets, the five Indian bowlers -- namely Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Ravindra Jadeja, and Kuldeep Yadav -- have together picked 75 wickets in nine matches ICC World Cup 2023.

"The present bowling unit is the best Indian bowling unit you will ever see," Nasser Hussain told Star Sports. "They have had some great bowlers over the time but this bowling unit (is best). If Bumrah doesn't get you, Siraj will. If Siraj doesn't get you, Shami will. If they don't get you the two spinners come on and get you out. There used to be a fab five with the bat, there's a fab five with the ball as well."
Jasprit Bumrah leads the chart among bowlers with 17 wickets while Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja have picked 16 wickets each. Kuldeep Yadav is not too far behind at 14 wickets while pacer Siraj has 12 wickets to his name. Shami has been the most lethal of the lot with 16 wickets in four matches.
South African bowlers are the second best in the list with 71 wickets in nine games with Gerald Coetzee (18), Marco Jansen (17), Keshav Maharaj (14), Kagiso Rabada (12), Lungi Ngidi (10). Among the other two semifinalists, the top five Australian bowlers have 59 wickets to their name while New Zealand bowlers have 56 wickets.
The wrath of Indian bowlers was faced the worst by South Africa, Pakistan, Australia, and England as none of them could go past a total of 200. Sri Lanka were bowled out for just 55 while South Africa folded for 83.
