ICC World Cup 2023 Mid-Match Light Show: Australia opener David Warner has disagreed to his teammate Glenn Maxwell's opinion on the mid-match light shows during the ongoing show-piece tournament in India.
Few of the venues of the World Cup 2023 have organized light shows during the innings break or whenever there has been a break in play. The HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala, Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad and Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi have organized light shows.

After a record-breaking ton that helped Australia defeat Netherlands by 309 runs at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Wednesday (October 25), Maxwell said the light show is a horrible idea, adding that it's great for fans, but horrible for players.
Maxwell, who smashed the fastest century ODI World Cup with a 40-ball knock against the Dutch, also cited the Big Bash League game in Perth as an example, when trying to explain why he dislikes the light show.
"I had something like that light show happen at Perth Stadium during a Big Bash game. I just felt like it gave me shocking headaches and it takes me a while for my eyes to re-adjust and I just think it's the dumbest idea for cricketers," Maxwell said after the match.
"So I just try and cover up as much as I possibly can and ignore it but it's a horrible, horrible idea. Great for the fans, horrible for the players."
However, his compatriot Warner, who also scored a century in the victory over Netherlands, disagreed to Maxwell's comments and said the game is all about the fans. Warner took to social media to give his opinion on the matter.
"I absolutely loved the light show, what an atmosphere. It's all about the fans. Without you all we won't be able to do what we love," Warner posted on X, formerly Twitter.
Both the centurions had differing opinions on the light show, but will be on the same page when Australia take the field on Saturday (October 28) in Dharamsala to face New Zealand in their next World Cup 2023 match.
