Mohammed Shami broke a list of records at the ICC World Cup 2023 with a seven-wicket spell against New Zealand as India stormed into the final of the tournament with a 70-run win at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Mohammed Shami took the first four wickets of the New Zealand top order, who were chasing a 398-run target.
Shami's two wickets at the top took the steam out of the Kiwi chase as Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra (both scored 13) scored quickly in the powerplay. He then also provided the breakthrough by ending the 181-run stand for the third wicket as he dismissed Kane Williamson (69) at a crucial juncture of the chase.
