Afghanistan all-rounder Rashid Khan has pledged his entire ICC World Cup 2023 match fee for the Afghanistan earthquake victims.
Two horrible earthquakes shook the entire Western Province of Afghanistan on Saturday (October 7). The devastating quake has already claimed more than 2500 lives and many people of those areas have lost their houses. The Afghanistan administration believes many are trapped in the rubble and the rescue is on.

Amid these stressful times, the Afghan cricket superstar Rashid Khan has come up for the aid of his netizens. The all-rounder announced on Sunday that he will donate the entirety of his match fees for the earthquake victims, and promised to launch a fundraiser soon for further aid.
"I learned with great sadness about the tragic consequences of the earthquake that struck the western provinces (Herat, Farah, and Badghis) of Afghanistan. I am donating all of my #CWC23 match fees to help the affected people," Rashid Khan wrote on his official Instagram and X profile.
"Soon, we will be launching a fundraising campaign to call upon those who can support the people in need," the statement added.
The 25-year-old is the highest earning cricketer of the country and his actions to help his countrymen has been hailed by various people since.
Rashid Khan hasn't been joined by any other of his Afghan teammates but it is expected that other players may also donate parts of their match fees for the earthquake victims.
Afghanistan, meanwhile, have made a disappointing start to the World Cup 2023 campaign as they were comprehensively beaten by Bangladesh. The Afghans will take on the hosts India on Wednesday (October 11) in their next match.
