ICC World Cup Prize Money 2023: The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Friday (September 22) announced a USD 10 million pot for the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 in India, scheduled to start from October 5.
The Cricket World Cup 2023 will see 10 teams do battle for the coveted title, starting with the group stage, where all ten teams will play each other in single round-robin format with the top four on the points table earning a spot in the semifinal.

As per the announcement from ICC, the winners of the Men's Cricket World Cup 2023 are set to receive USD 4 million of the USD 10 million total prize pool, while the runners-up of the Final to be played on 19 November at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad will take home USD 2 million.
Apart from the champions and runners up, the two losing semifinalists and the teams that did not make the semifinals as well will take home some money. The two losing semifinalists will earn USD 800,000 each, while the teams that do not make it past the group stage will earn USD 100,000 each.
Plus, there's prize money up for grabs for winning their Group Stage games as well, with teams getting USD 40,000 for every victory. Here is a look at the complete breakdown of the prize money for the Cricket World Cup 2023 in USD and INR:

Based on the above breakdown, the champion can take home up to USD 4.36 Million dollars if they win every match in the ODI World Cup as each group stage win sees a team pocket USD 40,000 each, meaning if the team wins all the nine matches, then they can earn up to USD 360,000 from the group stage.
In Indian Rupees the champions can take home close to Rs 36 Crore if they stay unbeaten throughout the tournament. Similarly, the runner up can take home up to USD 2.36 Million if they stay unbeaten in the group stage and lose the final.
The prize money also sets the precedent for the upcoming ICC Women's Cricket World Cup in 2025 as ICC had announced equal sums for both men's and women's events during the Annual Conference held in Durban, South Africa earlier this year in July 2023.
