Mumbai, Jan 24 (PTI) A three-member ICC team todayvisited the Wankhede Stadium, which will host the 2011 WorldCup final on April 2, to assess its preparedness ahead of thequadrennial extravaganza.
"All 13 venues are coming up well. The concerns are morein the media. The facilities were shown to the ICC team. Theywill convey the official version later," World Cup tournamentdirector, Prof Ratnakar Shetty, told reporters after anhour-long inspection.
Last week, Shetty, who is also the treasurer of theMumbai Cricket Association, had allayed fears of further delayin the completion of renovation work at the stadium sayingthat only the finishing work was pending.
Apart from the April 2 final, the stadium is slated tohost two more matches during the tournament -- New Zealand v/sCanada (March 13) and New Zealand v/s Sri Lanka (March 18).
The ICC team is scheduled to visit the Eden Gardens inKolkata, which will host four World Cup matches, tomorrow. PTIVKV ABC AH
