Pakistani cricketers Iftikhar Ahmed and Asad Shafiq were involved in a heated tussle during the ongoing Sindh Premier League T20 2024. In the match between Karachi Ghazi and Larkana Challengers, the Pakistani duo lost their cool during the passage of the play on Wednesday, January 31.
The incident happened during the eighth over, when Iftikhar Ahmed got rid of Larkana Challengers captain Asad Shafiq, leading to frayed tempers and verbal exchanges. Iftikhar who took the wicket seemingly gave an animated send-off to Shafiq.

Pakistan all-rounder antics spurred Shafiq as the latter had a go at the spinner, an incident that sent shockwaves in the Pakistan cricket fraternity. The officials and the players had to enter the scene to restore the situation to normal as the video clip went viral on social media.

The Pakistan all-rounder expressed regret over his antics and also admitted that he shouldn’t have reacted that way, albeit in the heat of the moment. "I am extremely apologetic for my behavior in the field today. I shouldn’t have reacted the way I did in the heat of the moment. I’ve apologized to @asadshafiq1986 Bhai in person after the match & have always held great regards for him. We have played a lot of cricket together,” he wrote on X.
