I'll take wickets for India if I get a call: Harbhajan Singh
London, July 14 (UNI) After guiding Surrey to an emphatic six-wicket win over Durham in the County Championship this week, Team India-discard Harbhajan Singh says he will take wickets if he gets a national call.
The offie was axed from the side after the world cup and failed to make the cut for Indian squad currently touring England.
Surrey were quick to rope in the spinner in their fold and there were not disappointed. For, the 'Turbantor' scapled three as the South London dismissed the rivals twice for the first time in seven matches and notched up their first win.
''This is a great opportunity for me,'' said the 27-year-old was quoted as saying by South London Press.
''I'm just going to go out and play the way that I can play and try and get lots and lots of wickets for my team.
''It's great to play my cricket over here because the India side are in this country too at the moment -- if I do get the call from India I'll play and take some wickets for them but at the moment I'm just looking to take Surrey to the next level,'' he said.
Harbhajan admitted that it was not a good season for Surrey but hoped his second essay with the Brown Caps would help turn the things around.
''I know it's not been a great season for Surrey so far but there is still a lot of cricket to go. I'm sure if we play some quality stuff we should be able to turn the table around. We've got the team that can win games, we've done it before,'' he added.
