The second edition of the International League T20 - ILT20 2024 is all set to begin on Friday (January 19) with the league phase, and is set to conclude a month later with the final on February 17.
Like last season, six teams - defending champions Gulf Giants, runner up Desert Vipers, Dubai Capitals, MI Emirates, Abu Dhabi Knight Riders and Sharjah Warriors, will once again do battle for the trophy.

All teams are packed with legendary cricketers and current generation stars who have sparkled especially in the T20 format and those who have displayed outstanding performances in the recent ICC World Cup in India.
Overseas stars like David Warner, Shaheen Afridi, Sunil Narine, Dwayne Bravo, Nicholas Pooran, Alex Hales, Shadab Khan, Rovman Powell, Dasun Shanaka, Sikandar Raza, Trent Boult, Ambati Rayudu and Sheldon Cottrell will all be among many seen in action.
Some of the UAE players who have produced sterling performances in international matches recently like Aayan Khan, Muhammad Waseem, Aditya Shetty, Aryan Lakra, Karthik Meiyappan, Rohan Mustafa, Vritya Aravind, Basil Hameed, and Alishan Sharafu are all playing for the different teams.
While there a total of 25 UAE players on different rosters, over 100 international cricketers will feature in Season 2. But how many can each team have in their playing 11 in an ILT20 match? Here is all you need to know about the overseas limit and the players list:
Unlike IPL, BBL, SA20 and PSL where the limit is four, an ILT20 team is allowed to use 9 of 11 the slots for overseas players in their playing 11 with the remaining two meant for - a UAE player and associate nation player. Also, two of the playing 11 should also be in the under 23 category.
