Imad Wasim, Pakistan's star all-rounder has announced his second retirement from international cricket at the age of 35.
Imad had previously announced his retirement in 2023, but a standout performance in the Pakistan Super League (PSL)-where he was named player of the match in all three playoff games for Islamabad United, who went on to win the title-led to his return to the national team for T20 internationals.

"To all fans & supporters: After much thought and reflection, I have decided to retire from international cricket. Representing Pakistan on the world stage has been the greatest honor of my life, and every moment wearing the green jersey has been unforgettable," the 35-year-old wrote on X.
Despite quitting international career, he will still continue to remain active in domestic as well as franchise cricket in the coming time.
"Your unwavering support, love, and passion have always been my biggest strength. From the highs to the lows, your encouragement has pushed me to give my best for our beloved country. While this chapter comes to an end, I look forward to continuing my journey in cricket through domestic and franchise cricket, and I hope to keep entertaining you all in new ways. Thank you for everything. Pakistan," he further added.
He went on to represent Pakistan in the 2024 T20 World Cup held in the West Indies and USA, but the team suffered an early exit after defeats to both the USA and India in the group stage. Imad's last appearance for Pakistan was in June 2024 during their match against Ireland in the T20 World Cup, after which he failed to regain his spot in the national squad.
Throughout his career, Imad played 75 T20Is and 55 ODIs, amassing 1,540 runs and taking 117 wickets in the white-ball formats. However, he never played Test cricket for Pakistan.
