Imam-ul-Haq throws Bat and Helmet in Anger after dismissal in Pakistan Champions Cup - Watch

By MyKhel Staff

Imam-ul-Haq's frustration was evident after his dismissal in the Pakistan's Champions One Day Cup 2024.

Playing for the Lions, Imam scored a commendable 60 off 62 balls, featuring five fours and two sixes against the Panthers. His dismissal came when he edged a delivery from Shadab Khan to Usman Khan behind the stumps.

Imam-ul-Haq's Angry Reaction

Following his dismissal, Imam's reaction was one of clear disappointment. He threw his helmet and bat in anger before taking a seat, visibly upset. This incident occurred during the first ball of the 23rd over when Shadab Khan, the Panthers' captain, introduced himself into the attack and made an immediate impact.

Imam-ul-Haq was visibly distressed and was not happy with the dismissal, and he reacted outrageously, venting the anger to his gears. Imam threw his helmet and bat at full force inside the dressing room. After the anger, Imam was seen sitting on the chair with his hands behind his head.

Panthers' Strong Performance

The Panthers set a challenging target by scoring 283 runs in their innings. Mubasir Khan and Haider Ali were instrumental in this effort, scoring unbeaten 90 and 84 runs respectively. Shadab Khan also contributed with a quick 37 off 29 balls, which included five boundaries.

In response, the Lions struggled to chase down the target. They were eventually bowled out for just 199 runs, falling short by a significant margin of 84 runs. This defeat added to their woes as they had already lost their opening match against Babar Azam's Stallions.

The Lions' batting collapse was evident as they struggled throughout their innings. At one point, they were at 171/8 in 32 overs. The team's inability to build partnerships and maintain momentum led to their downfall.

The match saw Shadab Khan celebrating passionately after dismissing Imam-ul-Haq. His decision to bring himself into the bowling attack paid off immediately as he claimed Imam's wicket on his very first delivery.

Lions' Struggles Continue

This loss places the Lions at a disadvantage early in the tournament. Having lost both their matches so far, they find themselves at the bottom of the six-team points table. Their performance needs significant improvement if they hope to climb up in future games.

The Lions will need to regroup and address their shortcomings quickly if they aim to turn their fortunes around in this competition. Consistency and better execution will be key factors for them moving forward.
